| [TAIPEI, TAIWAN, 16 May 2006] The use of virtual platform is not alien to local financiers. Compared to its use by other domestic industries, the integration of virtual platform in the finance field is clearly superior. However, many were still extremely impressed with the presentation by Park Sun Moo, Senior Vice President of Hyundai Securities' Dept. of Information Technology Planning.
During his recent visit to Taiwan, Park not only shared his technical experience, but also used his personal account to enter into Hyundai Securities information service interface. Local financiers saw how far South Korea has taken current e-marketing services. Through actual operations, audiences were able understand South Korea's level of information platform integration on virtual channel. Despite a short presentation, local financiers were awestruck by how user-friendly Korean virtual channel has become.
Park stated that most people only think of the Internet when virtual channel is mentioned. However, the current use of virtual channel in South Korea has already upgraded from the Internet to cell phone, PDA, MP3, and even digital TV, demonstrating the platform's wide range of applications. In addition, virtual channel's services are no longer limited by rigid operations. More user-friendly services are now a reality. Park pointed out that complete visitor data collection is the foundation for providing future one-to-one services. Personal service and information for each customer is the key to increasing customer loyalty. Park emphasized, "'You First' has always been Hyundai's motto, so a customer-centric belief has continued to generate investments for researching customer needs and personal service."
Professor of Finance at the School of Business in South Korea's Chung-Ang University and consultant for the country's Ministry of Finance and Economy, Kyung-Chun Chang Ph.D. noted that even though e-business has already experienced a bubbling period, the remaining trained-and-tested companies are still susceptible to facing the same problem. Thus, providing for the market's needs and understanding the voices of the consumers are areas where current e-marketing professionals must focus on. Chang also stressed that South Korea was able to quickly capture the international market's attention mainly because it is very knowledgeable about the market's needs and values customers' needs whether actual or virtual channel. It also spends a great deal of costs and human resources on market research, an important aspect in which domestic industries must note and learn.
CCMedia Group marketing consultant Michael Hsu stated that due to 3G bandwidth and portable hardware platform needs, the domestic e-business market is expected to grow dramatically as it follows the Korean approach. Based on the development of 3G communication since 2005, the amount of time people spend online is bound to increase yearly. Thus, no matter which industry a company belongs to, an efficient, high-ROI e-marketing platform is a vital tool for the future. Providing analysis on e-marketing returns, online consumer behavior, and even cross-platform one-to-one marketing is very crucial.
